NSM faculty member August Watters presents a concert of classical music for mandolin, with visiting Italian pianist Elena Buttiero and the New England Mandolin Ensemble. Included will be works by Mozart, Beethoven, Rossi, and Calace. Although rarely heard today, the timeless elegance of the classical mandolin repertoire offers many creative pathways. Fans of chamber music and traditional folk music alike will enjoy this
accessible, educational and entertaining event.

You will hear an elegant Mozart Trio , then the monumental Mendelssohn D Minor Trio, with similar sounds from Midsummer Night’s Dream. The grand finale is Brahms G minor Piano Quartet, an absolutely riveting work at the peak of Romanticism!
