Have kids in music lessons, and want to know what it’s like? Have you just always wanted to try picking up the guitar?

This class, for beginning adults on the guitar, will introduce the basics, and get you started in a low-pressure group setting with other adults. Instructor Jef Charland will lead the group class – come get started on the guitar, and have lots of fun doing it!

In Beginners Ukulele – Group Lessons for Adults we will learn basic strumming techniques, a handful of chords, up to five different songs and gain the confidence to play with friends or your kids at home! This class is designed to teach complete beginners while also giving a challenge to those who have experience with music. Whether you are starting a new hobby, wanting a better understanding of music or just love the sound of the Ukulele, Beginners Ukulele – Group Lessons for Adults will provide you that and more!

Beginners Group Piano | adults

A perfect place to start your study. Less pressure for busy adults, fun, and support from the other class members. Subjects of classes will be note learning, how to practice in limited free time, beginning music theory (the language of music), some improvisation (playing without notes) with other class members.

Piano class for those with some previous study-no matter how long ago, it will come back! Class will focus on reading music, some group playing, and simple harmony.

Violin & Viola  Chamber Groups | adults

A great opportunity for adult students who have some experience with the instrument and would like to play chamber music. If you are interested in joining a group, please fill-out our online interest form or contact NSM at 617-492-8105 so that we can talk to you to learn more about your experience and schedule to help place you with a group accordingly.
