Summer Vocal Chamber Music Course

Tuesday, June 10, 2014 – Thursday, July 3, 2014; 5:30-7:00pm | Teacher: Emily Romney

This course offers singers an opportunity to expand their performing experience and repertoire with Vocal Chamber Music. The course is designed for Solo Singers who would enjoy a chamber music experience and Choral Singers who like the challenge of singing one on a part. The Music will come from 18th through 20th century Vocal Chamber Music repertoire for various combinations of voices, unaccompanied, and with piano. Emphasis will be on interpretation and ensemble skills while bringing music to performance level. The singers will present a concert at the conclusion of the course. Prerequisite: Singers must have basic music reading skills and the ability to sing in tune, one voice on a part.

Open Jam Session for Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, and Voice

Wednesdays with Jef Charland, 6-7pm

A fun and relaxed opportunity for musicians of all ages and levels to play in a group while learning new songs and playing old favorites. Each week students get to choose the music – everything from rock, pop, country, bluegrass to jazz! Sign-up for one class or sign-up for a block. Register now!


Voice Performance Workshop 

Sundays from 3-5pm with Wendy Parker

This interactive, hands on vocal workshop will help you unleash your creativity in a safe and encouraging environment, and is focused on techniques to aid singers preparing for auditions. Students will learn about effective breathing, tailored warm-up methods and so much more! Using theatre techniques students will learn performing and audition strategies. All singers will have the opportunity to perform in class for feedback as well as for any audition preparation.

Pre-requisite: Come prepared with 2 memorized songs with sheet music. A basic knowledge of music reading, ability to sing in tune, and at least one year of private voice lessons.
